does LaudyMcB Designs do bespoke orders? | yes we do. We really enjoy working on commissions and bespoke orders. This can be anything from a complete overhaul of an existing item you have, a product in a specific colourway, a new product or just personalisation. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
where are the products made? | we make all of our products in our workshop in Essex. We source all our materials from across Great Britain and outsource our safety testing to a small business based in Essex.
where else can I buy products? | we have a small shop based in Tiptree, Essex where we stock some of our items (if you have something specific in mind please ring ahead and we can advise you if we currently have the items in stock). we sell our products at a number of fairs and events throughout the year. A list of these can be found on our "Events" section.
what do I need to know about handmade products? | as our products are handmade, we can not guarantee that the product you see on the screen, will be identical to the one you receive. This may be down to screen colours, a slight variation in material colour, pattern placement and stitch placement. We know this is what gives our products different characters and looks but hope that you will be happy with the variation you receive. We make quality products that go through rigorous testing to ensure they are safe and secure, however the appearance of the manufacture of these products may differ from those that are mass made.  This is due to the nature of how they are made and does not affect their functionality or lifespan. Many of our products use "raw" edges that fray.  This is considered part of the design.  Pieces have been adhered to the backing and double stitched to ensure they are secure however after wear they may need a little attention.
how do I care for my item? | we mostly use natural materials in our products meaning a little love and attention may be required to ensure they stay looking as good after much use. Material products are best kept clean by hand wash only. Many of our designs use "raw" edges meaning they may fray, if these are looking scruffy or affecting use, just give the pieces a little cut but not past the stitching line. Wood, slate and leather products may require wax or oil after prolonged use and are not designed to go in washing machines, dishwashers or to be soaked in water. If you need directions on how to care for your product please contact us as we will be happy to help.
can I learn to make some of these items? | yes! Laura still runs workshops on how to create many beautiful things in our shop in Tiptree, Essex. For a list of workshops please contact us for further details. If you are not from Essex but would like to attend one of her workshops we can also advise on accommodation and other local attractions.
