Inspired by the squirrels observed running through all the woods on our daily walks. Running amongst the old trees, collecting all the nuts, seeds and fruits, there is something quite autumnal about the colours observed in this shade, which is a one-off.
The trees, pine cones and squirrels have each been made from carefully cut out pieces of tweed. They have then been top stitched to add texture, colour and tone, using free motion embroidery. The 3 squirrels have multiple colours stitched on top as they have been studied, to add movement to the piece. The orange of the squirrels are complimented by the browns, green and red of the scenery.
